USGS TOPO MAP: Telluride

SUGGESTED USES: Hiking

CONSIDERATIONS: The trail is steep and difficult to follow.  Camping is impractical due to heavy brush coverage and steep grades.  When combined with the first section of the Wasatch Trail, this trail makes a somewhat difficult loop which can be hiked in one day from the town of Telluride.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
The trail follows a faint road grade after crossing Bear Creek.  It climbs up a few switchbacks and traverses south through thick brush under cliffs.  It parallels the East Fork of Bear Creek as it cascades over steep cliffs, continuing to switchback and then following a traverse up and over to a junction with Wasatch Trail.
